4 months old

Connor turned four months old last week and I just can't believe that he is four months old already. Connor continues to be the sweetest baby ever, I know I'm a little biased! He has found his tongue and is funny when he sticks it out! He has also found feet and plays with them all the time and is trying to use them to roll over. He went to the doctor on Monday and weighs 13.5 pounds, which is exactly how much James weighed when he was 4 months old. He still smiles all the time and is laughing out loud but you have to work pretty hard to get a giggle. He loves watching James!! James went to the doctor on Monday as well for his 3 year check up and weighs 28 pounds. The doctor said that neither of the boys are breaking any weigh gain records but they are both healthy and happy. That was all I needed to hear! What a blessing, two happy, healthy, and entertaining boys!!

3...2...1...Blast Off!!!

James got a rocket that blasts off for his birthday and he loves it. He only gets to do it with my dad because he is the only one that knows how to do it which also means that I don't have to shoot a rocket off everyday.

YO HO the pirates life for us!!!

James giving his meanest pirate face!

Ever since we returned from Disney World James has become a pirate! It is hilarious to listen to him. I found a pirate ship inflatable pool that has been up in my dining room for 2 weeks that he loves to play with. Connor gets in on the pirate action as well!

T ball practice

James had his first Tball practice last week and has his 1st game this week. He loved practice and actually paid attention through most of the practice. He hit the ball and ran to first base but he didn't want to run the rest of the bases. We will see how he does at the game. I will take video at the game and post it. The first picture is of James crying when his coach said that the practice was over. He just wanted to keep playing!!

Our little hiker!

We decided to take the boys on a short hike a few weeks ago. James was SO excited!! When he came out of his bedroom he had his binoculars, bug catcher, net, and tweezers. He was ready to go. When we got there, he carried all of the things that he had gotten out of his room and the trail map. He was a hoot!!

Connor's Baptism

Connor was baptised in April 25th. He wore my Grandpa Hill's bapatism gown for the baptism. I asked my Grandma how many people have worn this gown and I think she told me 27 give or take a few. My grandpa, my dad, my brother, myself, and now both of my boys has worn it for our baptism. Both of my dads brothers, their children, and their childrens children have been baptised in it. It is getting thin and I'm not sure that it will last until the next generation but I'm so happy that my boys were able to wear it.

Connor's Party Attire

Aunt Katie wanted Connor to fit in at the party and got him this adorable rocket outfit. He was so cute in it! Thanks again Aunt Katie!

3rd Birthday Party!!

James had a great 3rd birthday party. He wanted to have a rocket party so we had a rocket cake and pinata. He loved them both but didn't eat any cake. We got a bounce house for the kids and they all loved it. As you can tell from the pictures, they got a workout that day! All of Chad's family came up for the party and my parents were there as well. It was a wonderful day but a little bitter sweet. I just can't believe that James is 3!!!

James blowing out the candles on his rocket cake. The cute shirt that he has on was make by one of my very talented sorority sisters. Check out her website at http://www.greatdaygraphics.blogspot.com/ if you are looking for anything personalized! Thanks Ashely for creating James' shirt!!

The three amigos James, Belle, and Owen

1st trip to the zoo!!

I few weeks ago I met my good friend Katie and her little boy Steven at the zoo. It was so good to see her and meet Steven!! I wish that I would have had someone take a picture of all of us!!! It was Connor's first trip to the zoo too. He slept through most of it but he will have many more opportunities to see all the animals. James had a great time and he and the chimps seemed to be communicating somehow!!

Brotherly Love

Connor and James hanging out at home!

Happy Baby!!

Connor smiles all the time. He has started to laugh out loud. One day he will laugh a couple of times but he won't laugh at all the next day. He laughs at James when he is in the bathtub the most!

James' birthday party at school!

LOVE THE HAT!!!

Connor enjoying a stroller ride!!

Good news - Spring seems to finally be here so we get to go outside!! Connor loves riding in the stroller and I'm so glad!

James turns 3!!!

James turned 3 on the 15th. We had a small party on his birthday and he is having his rocket party this Saturday. So, more birthday pictures to come!!

I don't usually write a ton of stuff on here but I thought I would take a minute to tell you about James. I was watching him in the yard today and I continue to be amazed by him. He is probably one of the most observant little boys I have ever met. If something is interesting to him, he will absorb as much as he can. He is a huge ball of energy that is nonstop from the moment he wakes up until his head hits the pillow. He is a dirt magnet!!! I try to let him explore as much as possible which always means dirt to James. I could watch him play in the dirt for hours though. He gets so excited to find an ant or a rock or just more dirt. If we could all be so excited by dirt our lives would be much more exciting!! He thinks that he is an astronaut and knows more about Saturn V rockets than I do. At dinner if we can't get him to eat something we tell him that Neil Armstrong or Jim Lovell sent it and he will at least take a bite, if not eat it all! It is so funny!!!! James loves attention and to played with but he is also good about playing by himself. James does everything hard...plays hard, sleeps hard, loves hard. He is a GREAT big brother and is actually gentle with him in his own rough way. He will just say at least once a day "I love Connor." He is loud, loud, loud, and wild, wild, wild, but I wouldn't trade it for a minute. I have had my days when I wonder if he will ever be able to control his energy but I know that he will. He is a smart little cookie and listens when I talk to him about everything. If he wasn't so full of energy he wouldn't be the James that we love. He is absolutely full of life and sees everything through magical eyes. Everywhere he looks there is a treasure to be found, dirt that turns into moon dust in his hands, paint that makes him look like a purple grape, a sword made out of a stick, and something to jump on or off of. He makes us laugh everyday and look at things through new eyes. He is a sweet little boy that is growing up way to fast for me!!

Finger Painting

The day before James turned 3 I thought he should do one more 2 year old art project. I asked him what he wanted to do and he said finger paint. So, I left the room to change a diaper and came back to James painting himself instead of the paper. Amazing as it is, there was only paint on him and the paper. He had managed to make a "clean" mess.

Space and Rocket Center

On our way down to Katie and Jason's we stopped in Huntsville at the Space and Rocket Center. While this would not be the most exciting trip for all almost 3 year olds, James LOVED it. We planned on staying there about 2 hours and ended up being there almost 5 hours. James loved all the rockets but his favorite was the Saturn V. He also loved the Lunar Module that is in the picture with him.
This is a video of James moving from the "Command Module" to the "Lunar Module" like a astronaut. (Those were his words, not mine! I had not idea what he was doing the first time he did it!)

Connor 3 months

This picture was taken on Connor's 3 month birthday. (Sorry that it took me 2 weeks to get it posted!) He has found his hands and sucks on them all the time. He is still a very happy baby. He smiles all the time and at everyone. It seems like I can't get through the grocery store without someone stopping to talk to him. He loves it and I know how good it feels when he smiles at you so I stand there and watch total strangers talk funny to him and make silly faces. It can be pretty amusing. He is still sleeping great but he is fighting sleep. I'm trying to get him on a better schedule but some days are way off because of things going on with James. I finally packed up the newborn clothes and I'm getting ready to pack up some of the smaller 3 month clothes. He is just growing up too fast!!

Busy Busy Busy!!!

Soory that I haven't updated the blog lately. We were having some computer problems and once we got those fixed we headed off for vacation! Connor turned 3 months old today! I just can't believe that he is already 3 months old. The time has flown by. He went on his first airplane trip last week and, in true Connor style, he smiled and slept through the whole thing. We are headed to Birminghad to see Katie and Jason tomorrow and with a quick stop in Huntsville, AL so James can go to the Space Center. It will be a huge hit!!! James is going to be 3 next Tuesday and I just can't believe that my first baby is a little boy! I hope that you enjoy the pictures from Disney. There aren't too many where you can really see Connor but I will put some more on in the next few days so you can see how much he is growing. I think he gets longer and heavier every day!!!

Disney World

We were lucky enough to spend last week in Disney World with my parents and my brother and his family. We had a WONDERFUL time!! James loved being with his cousins and we finally got to meet Grant! We had a great time at the park and James has actually cried more than once this week because he wants to go back. He loved the rides, the characters, the shows, and everything in between.

We can't thank my parents enough for a great week and wonderful memories. Hope that you enjoy some of my favorite pictures for the week.

Meeting Mickey and Minnie

James loved all the characters but he especially loved Mickey and Minnie. He gave them both a kiss on the nose before we left. He would run up to all the characters when he saw them and then would just stand there and look at them. I think that he was waiting on them to talk to him but they don't talk, ever!

James loved the fireworks at night. We got to see them 3 times from the park and 2 times from our hotel room.

Parade

All the kids loved the parade at night. If you look closely you can see Grace, James, Audrey, and Luke all on shoulders to see the parade.

Donald and Daisy

A few of my favorites!

These are just a couple of my other favorites from the trip.
